SY5088 : Cogden Beach

taken 11 years ago, near to Burton Bradstock, Dorset, Great Britain

Cogden Beach
Cogden Beach
Looking southeast along Cogden Beach, one of the upper parts of Chesil Bank (where is it still connected with the mainland on the landward side). There is a smooth increase in pebble size as you go further towards Portland along the beach - here the pebbles are small (sub-centimetre) and very difficult to walk on. When the tide is out it is easier to walk on the sandier level where the waves are breaking.
