Across the Severn estuary, Purton, Gloucestershire
Across the Severn estuary, Purton, Gloucestershire
The sun succeeded in breaking through the low cloud level to add a bit of light to an otherwise rather dull view. On the far side of the estuary is the southern end of the Forest of Dean. In the foreground is the boat seen here LinkExternal link In between is a lot of prime Severn estuary mud. The Severn at this point is about 1.3 kilometres wide, bank to bank, more than twice the width of the River Rhine at Mainz LinkExternal link
