Fort William Mountain Bike World Cup
Since 2002 a round of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup has been held annually at Nevis Range, near Fort William (except 2007, when the World Championships were held instead). Over the years this has included Downhill, Four-cross and Cross-country races.
The downhill is on a 2.8km long course, with 550m of descent down Aonach Mòr, using the gondola for uplift. The four-cross is a shorter course, with four riders racing at once. The cross-country course is an 8.5km loop around Leanachan Forest.
For 2012 the Fort William UCI World Cup includes a downhill race, as well as a four-cross race as part of the 4X Pro Tour.
