TQ3078 : River Thames: Vauxhaull Bridge

near to Westminster, Great Britain

River Thames: Vauxhaull Bridge
River Thames: Vauxhaull Bridge
From Albert Embankment at the end of Black Prince Road. This bridge was built in 1906 as a replacement for the original bridge of 1816. It carried horse trams initially as authorisation for electric trams had not at first been obtained, but the electric cars started to run in October 1906, being the first to cross a bridge in central London. They operated until 6 January 1952, only six months before the final withdrawal of all London trams.
