Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda
Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda
The building at Coed y Parc at the former meeting point between the "main line" of the 2' gauge railway to Porth Penrhyn and the internal quarry railway system. By the time this picture was taken in 1973 the railway had long since been lifted and what quarry working remained was carried out using lorries for transport. The profile of the slate tips was being altered for road transport whilst obscuring the former railway as can be seen by the roadway to the left of the picture.
