Scolt Head Island Traverse 2: Long Beach
Scolt Head Island Traverse 2: Long Beach, taken 5 years ago
The view westwards along the north shore of the island. Ahead are the high dunes close to the warden's hut. To the left is a roped-off section for nesting terns.

Please note: The crossing of Scolt Head Island from end to end is perfectly possible but only with careful planning and a knowledge of the tides. Do not attempt the crossing unless you are fit and know when it is low tide in the area. Cross on a falling tide and be prepared for deep mud in places at the western end.
