Scolt Head Island Traverse 9: The path grows faint
Scolt Head Island Traverse 9: The path grows faint
After heading south-west from the warden's house, the path turns southeast across salt-marsh and the line becomes less distinct. There is a National Trust sign on a raised bank as a landmark to keep to one's left.

Please note: The crossing of Scolt Head Island from end to end is perfectly possible but only with careful planning and a knowledge of the tides. Do not attempt the crossing unless you are fit and know when it is low tide in the area. Cross on a falling tide and be prepared for deep mud in places at the western end.
