After crossing Norton Creek, there is still a long kilometre of boggy/muddy track across salt-marsh to cover, with the settlements of Burnham Deepdale and Brancaster Staithe tantalisingly in view, before the final water crossing.

Please note: The crossing of Scolt Head Island from end to end is perfectly possible but only with careful planning and a knowledge of the tides. Do not attempt the crossing unless you are fit and know when it is low tide in the area. Cross on a falling tide and be prepared for deep mud in places at the western end.
