taken 6 years ago, 6 km from Ballycastle, Northern Ireland

Ushet Point, Rathlin Island
Ushet Point, Rathlin Island
Ushet Point near the southern tip of Rathlin Ireland. The ruined buildings (seen from the sea in 2007 at D1547 : Rathlin Ruin) were apparently built and used by the coastguard to deter smuggling in the area. The cliffs of Fair Head are seen across the Rathlin Sound beyond.
