TQ9662 : Brickfield

taken 12 years ago, near to Teynham, Kent, Great Britain

Field to the east of the trackway LinkExternal link this one has another raised track running along its southern boundary to a derelict building. The trackways are raised because brickearth (the clay subsoil used to make bricks) has been removed at some time in the past. It is not uncommon in this area to find adjacent fields of very different heights where the brickearth has been removed from one but not the other.
