Another view of SX9473 : Our Lady and St Patrick Church, Teignmouth, a church that received brief internet notoriety in March 2012 when local composer David Haines posted a video of the priest attempting to read out a letter criticising the government's plans to legalise same sex marriages LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) .

The church was built by Charles Hansom in 1854 of "squared rock-faced grey Plymouth stone with cream freestone dressings and belfry" LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) in "Hansom's characteristically jerky and earnest Gothic" (Cherry & Pevsner).

On the right is the A379 Dawlish Road. In the foreground it crosses the railway line.
