Seafield House was sold in early 1950's as commented on in one image (The House was sold and used as a B & B in the early 1950's), but it was not used as a B&B it was a full hotel with Bed, Breakfast, lunch and full 3 course evening meal. It was owned by Mrs Ware and was run by her and two of her children (Jean and Jeff), but mostly just by her and Jean the daughter who did a lot of the work of cleaning, helping with cooking, serving and maid service. It was a real pleasure to stay there. Jeff worked at other Summer jobs to help finance the Winter repairs and maintenance, but the house was right at the front and susceptible to the ravages of the weather. I spent many happy holidays there during the Fifties and early sixties.

It is so sad to see the property in such a state, but early in the sixties it needed a lot of work but the three children could not agree what to do with it (refinance to modify or to sell it, to Braddock's who made many offers over the years) so it has just deteriorated to the sorry state it is in now. It is heart-breaking to see the house looking so sorry for itself.
