Thomas Newcomen and his engine - Black Country Living Museum
We don't know what Newcomen looked like but this gentleman is suitably attired and stood alongside the red ribbon that is about to be cut. This was the Museum's event to celebrate the tercentenary of Newcomen's Dudley Castle atmospheric steam engine and the return of its replica engine to operation following a lengthy and expensive renovation.
