NT8617 : Camp Tops from north side of White Knowe
3 km from Sourhope, Scottish Borders, Great Britain

Camp Tops from north side of White Knowe
The hill in the foreground carries the name Camp Tops. The Iron Age hill-fort which bears the same name is further down the ridge beyond, just above the green line of the Clennell Street track, visible on the left. An earthwork consisting of a ditch and bank cuts across the narrow ridge in the foreground, a so-called cross-dyke which either acted as a boundary, or was built to control access associated with the Clennell Street cross-Border route.
