Bishop Rock lighthouse in 1943
Photographed by my father George Baker after he had been appointed a sub-lieutenant in the RNVR (Royal Navy Volunteer Reserves). Initially, he was based at Felixstowe in Suffolk before being transferred to Falmouth to serve on RML 519 (a Royal Motor Launch) from 1943 to 1945. This boat patrolled the waters around the South West of England (including the Isles of Scilly).
