Swing Bridge, Keadby
The bridge carries the minor B1392 road from Keadby to Eastoft (left to right), where it meets the main road to Goole. This view shows the pivot and motor. The arched handrail forms a barrier across the road to help prevent anyone falling below, when the bridge is swung to allow the passage of rivercraft.
The boat is the Spider T, a restored Humber Sloop, which took part in the celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, on the River Thames.
