Newark, Notts (Canal Basin)
The Parnham Island end of the canal basin (entrance to the right of the navigational sign). This stone and metal Mill Bridge, built in 1965 to replace a hump-backed brick built version) links the Millgate Folk Museum area with the Parnham Island area, plus the towpath that continues in the direction of Longstone Bridge. It seems that the two bricked-up arches in the former mill opposite formerly provided access to the mill's boiler room. On the roof, the residual stump of the mill chimney is visible, previously 16m (52ft) high.
