Marshall Horizontal Engine
Marshall engine with drop valves and a Proell governor. 1927, worked at Wilkins jam factory, Tiptree. Smaller vertical engine by Savages Ltd of Kings Lynn. They were noted fairground machinery builders (but also built road and agricultural steam engines) and this was probably to drive an organ - a Savage organ engine. C.Allen
Strumpshaw Steam Collection
The strumpshaw collection is an undercover array or portable, stationary traction steam engines. Through years of collecting the strumpshaw, like the Thursford collection has grown into a museum. Every year a steam fair is run.
Inside the museum are many traction engines, a large beam engine, diesel pumps and even a railway locomotive.
