Footbridge, weir and sluice, River Taff, Cardiff
The footbridge crosses the River Taff from near the northern entrance Link
to Bute Park, to Pontcanna on the far side. The original weir here was medieval, built to supply water along a mill stream to Cardiff Mills on the west side of Cardiff Castle. The present weir dates from the early nineteenth century, built to feed the new docks in Cardiff.
