Thinktank - Power up gallery
This large gallery on the ground floor contains the historic prime movers including the oldest and third oldest steam engines in the world capable of being operated on live steam. The two beam engines closest (one with two beams) are being turned electrically - hence the blurring. This view shows the new museum at its best and although some (myself included) mourn the passing of the old Birmingham Museum of Science and Industry, it was well past its best in building terms.
