Charity Summer Fair, Forde Abbey
Pavilions and visitors a-plenty at the 2012 Charity Summer Fair at Forde Abbey, for which there was perfect weather. In the foreground is the events area, used for falconry displays amongst other things. Below are lots and lots of stalls selling crafts and local produce. To the right is a fairground area, with bouncy castle and ferret racing track. Inside the Abbey itself the Great Hall was open for teas, while behind the building the gardens were available for visitors to view, with a shop selling ice-creams and plants.
Forde Abbey is a Grade I Listed building and a scheduled monument. Originally a Cistercian monastery, the building has been added to century by century. It is set in stunning grounds and is open to the public during the summer, when there are other events like the one depicted here.
