Tunshill Village, near Milnrow, Lancashire
This former colliery village was largely derelict by 1950, the colliery having closed well before World War 2. The building just to the bottom right of the chimney, which was formerly a public house (the King's Arms) still survives in 2007 as a dwelling house. The M62 motorway now obliterates the spot where the photographer is standing.
