Fawley Power Station dock
Fawley Power Station dock
Looking up the dock towards the southern end of the power station from the swingbridge. The waterway has two functions - it carries shipping (to the left) for transport to and from the southern end of the station, and it supplies cooling water (to the right) from Southampton Water. The cooling water, once it has been warmed in the station's condensers, is piped to an outfall in the Solent about a mile to the SSE in grid square SU4800.
