Olympic gold pillar box, Peebles High Street
Olympic gold pillar box, Peebles High Street
A coat of gold paint was applied this morning to commemorate the British team's win in showjumping at the London 2012 Olympics. Scott Brash, Peter Charles, Ben Maher and Nick Skelton gained gold medals; Scott Brash lives near Peebles and his is an appropriate win for the Borders in which horse riding has a long tradition.

The pillar box is situated outside the Tontine Hotel.
