Bowfell
Bowfell
The route off Bowfell towards Three Tarns passes these huge slabs.

Mr. Wainwright, in 'A Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells : Book Four The Southern Fells', has this to say of Bowfell : "the noble Bowfell may be regarded as affording an entirely typical Lakeland climb, with easy walking over grass giving place to rough scrambling on scree, and a summit deserving of detailed exploration and rewarding visitors with very beautiful views".
