The church probably dates back to Saxon times.
The Normans built a church here, and traces of it can be found in the north-east tower buttress. That church was rebuilt in the Fifteenth Century, and the lower stage of the tower is of that time.
The present building is from 1742-45. The work has sometimes been ascribed to Thomas White, well-known Worcester architect of that period.
There were box pews and a west gallery with organ.
The church was further restored in 1869. The East window dates from 19th C.
