Remains of Iron Furnaces in Morley Park
Remains of Iron Furnaces in Morley Park
Situated on the very edge of this grid square and within sight of the busy A38 road are this pair of ovens - the remains of first coke-fired blast furnaces to have been built in Derbyshire. They formed part of Morley Park Ironworks which were built by Francis Hurt in the late 18th century.
