Beach hut and cliffs east of Abbot's Cliff, nr Dover
The land at the foot of the cliff is of uncertain ownership, and the owner of this substantial beach hut had asserted his rights by maintaining it against the constant assault of the sea over many years. Hence the digger, which he used every year to rebuild his stone breakwater. He told me that, decades ago, there was a substantial bar of sand separating the hut from the sea.
