Olympic games on the big screen in Blackheath
On the penultimate night of the Games when Britain won several more gold medals, a crowd gathered to watch on one of several public big screens. Here they are watching a medal ceremony.

[Technical note: I was unable to get an exposure right for the whole scene, so have superimposed the screen taken on 1/30s exposure with the crowd on a 0.5s exposure. But the two photos were taken within a few seconds of each other.]
Blackheath

Blackheath is a district of South London, England. It is named from the large open public grassland.
The name is recorded in 1166 as Blachehedfeld and means the "dark coloured heathland". It is formed from the Old English 'blęc' and 'hǣth' and refers to the open space that was the meeting place of the ancient hundred of Blackheath. The name was later applied to the village that developed in the 19th century and was extended to the areas known as Blackheath Park and Blackheath Vale

Because of the Games

This snippet is to link together disparate photos which are not of 2012 Olympic / Paralympic events or venues, but of features or activities associated with them such as security, transport and advertising. Mostly but not all taken in Greenwich where Greenwich Park was used for equestrian events and pentathlon.
