Whewell Buildings, Bradshawgate
Whewell Buildings, Bradshawgate
Part of the early 20th century redevelopment of the west side of Bradshawgate, in red terracotta, mentioned in the Deansgate Conservation Area appraisal as a building which makes a positive contribution. The appraisal refers to an "ornately carved timber fascia above the entrance door to Bradshawgate [which] is inscribed "Whewell Buildings" in Art Nouveau lettering and incorporates floral motifs and a leaded fanlight with turned spindles". Whether this exists under the later fascias is not clear.
