Former Crown and Cushion pub
The upper storeys, which at one time hosted the John Spencer snooker club, are currently languishing unoccupied. This fine example of red terracotta was built in 1900 for the local brewing firm of William Tong & Sons, and contained their central offices Link
. The decoration included the firm's monogram Link
. The firm was taken over by the Warrington-based brewing combine Walker-Cain in 1923.
