NH5541 : Old lime kiln, South Clunes

3 km from Balchraggan, Highland, Great Britain

Old lime kiln, South Clunes
Old lime kiln, South Clunes
This lime kiln is about 8m tall, with a 2m mouth. It dates from about 1765, and is a scheduled monument, see the Highland Council Historic Environment Record: LinkExternal link

It looks like the lime kiln is built into a slope, which is now within the garden of a house. There is a garden shed just above it.
