Ingatestone Hall Essex
A 16th century manor house built by Sir William Petre, Secretary of State to four Tudor monarchs. Queen Elizabeth the first spent several nights here whilst on her Royal Progress in 1561. Sir William's descendants still reside in the house which largely retains its Tudor form and appearance (including two priest's holes).
