Clifton Lido - BS8
The Grade II* listed Clifton Lido in Oakfield Place was designed by Richard Shackleton Pope and opened in July 1850. It closed to the public in 1990 and fell into a state of disrepair. However, it was eventually bought and restored by a business syndicate. In addition to the pool and flower-bedecked restaurant seen here, it now boasts a separate pool-side café area, spa facilities, saunas and treatment rooms (behind the photographer). It reopened in November 2008 and welcomes fee-paying members, sessional users and/or diners.
