Hastings Miniature Railway

The 10.25 inch (260mm) gauge railway runs from Rock-a-Nore for 600 yards (550m) to Marine Parade. It is open seasonally in the spring and summer.

After almost 3 years out of action the East Hill lift, funicular railway, is reopening on 27th March 2010 http://www.hastings.gov.uk/news/easthill_programme.pdf (Pdf)

The UK's steepest funicular railway opened in 1902, and was last overhauled in 1970s. For this recent renovation the fibreglass carriages have been replaced with wooden ones, closer resembling the original cars of 1902, but with better wheelchair access.
