A380 southbound
A380 Road
The A380 is an 18 mile long road in South Devon.
It leaves the A38 at Kennford. It then proceeds in a generally southerly direction, climbing over the Haldon Hills before descending past the towns of Kingsteignton and Newton Abbot, where it meets the A381.
Beyond Newton Abbot, the road passes through the village of Kingskerswell before bypassing the large seaside resort of Torquay. The A380 finally ends at Collaton St Mary, 1 mile inland from Paignton, where it meets the A3022 and the A385. The road is dual carriageway to Newton Abbott but single south of there.
The Haldon Hills
The Haldon Hills, is a ridge hills in Devon. It is situated between the River Exe and the River Teign and runs northwards from Teignmouth, on the coast, for about 15 miles until it dwindles just north west of Exeter at the River Yeo, south of Crediton. The highest points of just over 820 ft lie to the south west of Exeter. The southernmost part is known as Little Haldon; it is partially separated from the main bulk of the hills by a col formed by the valleys of the Dawlish Water to the east and the valley at Rixdale to the west. Geologically it is a mass of Old Red Sandstone capped by Upper Greensand. Much of the area is designated a SSSI.
