The Haymarket Tunnel
The eastern end of the north and south tunnels connecting Princes Street Gardens with Haymarket Station. They were built in 1846 to connect the North British Railway Company line, terminating originally at Edinburgh General (Waverley), to the terminus of the older Edinburgh & Glasgow Railway Company line from 1842. The tunnels are 910 metres long.
