This grand building opened in 1842 as a concert hall and assembly rooms. It has belonged to the University of Bristol since 1920 LinkExternal link , and currently houses the Department of Music.
The fountain and the statue of King Edward VII were installed in 1912. These, and the building itself, are all Grade II* listed .
