On Kinder Scout plateau

To experience the plateau, I kept east of the path along the edge, heading straight into a strong south wind and successfully negotiated the way to Kinder Low. It was hard work crossing the many little channels shown on the map just north of this spot. The variety in the proportion and combinations of peat, gritstone, moorland vegetation and water was intriguing, with photo opportunities even on a dull day. In fact, these seemed the most appropriate conditions to see and experience the plateau. I had kept to the edge footpaths on my previous visit.
