Railway Station - 3
This series of photographs were taken on the last day of public service, before the station closed for the last time. The 3-car DMU made its last journey from Kilmacolm to Glasgow Central. Originally the line ran west to Greenock, but the tracks were truncated at Kilmacolm in September 1966 and it became the north western terminus of the Paisley Canal Line.
The station and the rest of the line closed on 10 January 1983. On its final journey, raily detonators were placed on the line to welcome and say goodbye to the last train. The site of the station is now occupied by a Public House.
