The post box commemorates Peter Kennaughs success in the Summer Olympics 2012 as he won the gold medal as part of the Great Britain Team Pursuit cycling team becoming the first Manxman in 100 years to win gold. In doing so he also help set a world record for the event.
Peter was born in Douglas.
