This Grade II listed building stands on Gorton Street. It was built in 1900 to supply ice for the fishing fleet and produced thousands of tonnes of ice every day. Inside, exposed to the elements, stands the last surviving examples of early 20th Century ice factory machinery - LinkExternal link It closed in 1990.
Barriers on either side of the road protect pedestrians and the conveyors from being hit.
