Former Corstorphine Branch Railway
A short, low viaduct by Carrick Knowe golf club.
Corstorphine Branch Railway
The short branch line (less than two miles) left the Glasgow to Edinburgh main line near the present day Murrayfield rugby stadium. There were three stations; Balgreen Halt, Pinkhill and Corstorphine. The line skirted around Carrick Knowe golf course between Balgreen and Pinkhill and then through pleasant suburbs to the terminus at Corstorphine. The stationmaster's house at Balgreen still exists and the station at Pinkhill is pretty much intact, including the station building and platforms. There is not much left to see at Corstorphine.
The line closed in 1968 and is now a footpath for most of its length.
