Moorland on the Gargrie
Moorland on the Gargrie
To the right is Culvennan Fell and in the far distance the Galloway Hills with the Merrick most prominent. The name Gargrie refers to a now vanished farm. Gargrie is from the gaelic 'garbh-cheathramh' meaning 'rough quarter-land' (a 'quarter' being an old Scots land measure).
