The Lantern Tower - Ely Cathedral
The unique octagonal 'Lantern Tower' was completed in 1340 to replace the old central tower which collapsed in 1322. The Octagon is 74ft wide and is 170ft high. From the floor to its central roof boss 'The Lantern' is 142ft high.
