This steep sided little gill forms another barrier for anyone struggling towards Tan Hill somewhere near the line of the bridleway. Those who pass this way are likely to despair of ever finding the route of the bridleway, and it is only the mental image of foaming pints of brown liquid at the Tan Hill Inn which will save one from giving up the will to carry on.
