St Andrews - Madras College
St Andrews - Madras College
Madras College was founded by the Reverend Dr Andrew Bell who was born in St Andrews in 1753. The oldest part of the building is the quadrangle which dates from 1833, one year after the good doctor's death, so presumably there was a former school on the site or his original school was elsewhere. For information about its history see LinkExternal link
It is built partly where the Dominican friary of St Mary had once stood.
