NO5116 : St Andrews Cathedral - St Rule's Tower

taken 6 years ago, near to St Andrews, Fife, Great Britain

St Andrews Cathedral - St Rule's Tower
St Andrews Cathedral - St Rule's Tower
St Rule's was a separate church within the confines of St Andrews Cathedral. It is mainly ruined but its tall tower still rises impressively above the site. St Rule is otherwise known as St Regulus.
Note the three chevrons roughly halfway up the tower wall showing where the roof of the nave used to meet it at three different periods - whether the nave roof gradually got higher, lower or oscillated I don't know.
