SK3559 : Trinity Chapel, gable end (west) and its bell house

near to Brackenfield, Derbyshire, Great Britain

Trinity Chapel, gable end (west) and its bell house
Trinity Chapel, gable end (west) and its bell house
The 4 sockets in the gable end are probably for the fitting of an A-frame structure for maintenance of the bell and its housing. It might also explain why the site of the chapel is partly cut into the hillside (to help the hoisting of a heavy bell into position from a ramp).
