Fording Dockens Water, Moyles Court, New Forest
Fording Dockens Water, Moyles Court, New Forest
During the drier months of the year the flow of Dockens Water passes beneath this concrete ford. Dockens Water drains the New Forest heathland to the east of here, and after heavy rain the stream swells like this. Also visible in this picture is a footbridge to allow pedestrians to cross without getting wet feet, and on the left are fairly recent wooden rails and 'dragons teeth' to control verge parking near this popular spot.
